The book of Meow

People come to my blog in search for what a sociologist is, what he does, what jobs you can find if you’re one or even how much money you can earn.

That being said I’m not sure how I ended up being one of those who have, as my mentor usually says, “money, glory and women” (or men, my case).

I didn’t even consider sociology at first because I never heard of anyone becoming a sociologist. I’d have to say that sociology found me.

Often people are confused when they hear about my profession; they think that I’m an anthropologist, a psychologist or something that has to do with taking care of people and their mental health.

The truth is somewhere in there – sociology studies how people get along and examines the complex relationships that they create on family, groups, community, organzations and institutional levels. Most sociologists work in research organizations, in colleges and universities, for local government or consulting businesses.

Myself, I’m a sociologist passionate about human resources development – training, coaching, mentoring is what I try to do best.

Oamenii vin pe blogul meu cautand sa afle ce este un sociolog, ce face, ce locuri de munca poate avea sau chiar cat poate castiga.

Acestea fiind spuse, nici macar eu nu stiu cum am ajuns sa fiu unul din cei care au, dupa cum spune mentorul meu “bani, glorie si femei” (sau barbati, dupa caz). 

Nu am luat niciodata in considerare sociologia pentru ca nu auzisem de nimeni care sa fie sociolog. Se pare ca Sociologia m-a gasit pe mine.

Adesea lumea este confuza cand aude ce profesie am; cred ca sunt antropolog, psiholog sau ceva ce are de-a face cu a avea grija de oameni si de sanatatea lor mentala.

Adevarul este undeva acolo – sociologia studiaza felul in care se inteleg oamenii si examineaza relatiile complexe pe care ei le creaza la nivel de familie, grup, comunitate, organizatie sau institutie. Majoritatea sociologilor lucreaza in cercetare, in colegii si facultati sau pentru institutiile locale ori firme de consultanta.

Eu insami sunt un sociolog pasionat de dezvoltare resursei umane – incerc sa fac cat mai bine training, coaching si mentorat.
