Ray Bradbury – Cronici martiene

Ipswich, Suffolk

Ipswich – for I do not know what reason I always thought and I am thinking right now that is a haunted place or has some haunted regions.

Anyway, this is The Ancient House built in the 1578 for a rich merchant. It used to be a bookshop but now it sells kitchen goods. Hope there aren’t any flying pans or knifes.

O beautiful America

This is an awesome card I received from Cody, Art and Sofia just a few days after the 4th of July.

Besides the punched star on the left side of the card which gives it even a greater vintage look, the back has 5 stamps: one with Katharine Hepburn, one with Star Wars (princess Leia and R2-D2 robot), a Tiffany lamp, an American clock and a Navajo necklace.

This is what I call the American spirit.

Central Lithuania

I got one lovely multiview of Lithuania from Gabriele from Prienai of only 11 years old. Super sweet this little kido.

It also has a map design on the back with the major cities highlighted.

France – Strasbourg

Moving on with the postcards I have my first one from France. Yey! I have waited for such a long time to get one via postcrossing and Frederique sent me one from Strasbourg.

Au pays des cigognes. Strasbourg (Bas-Rhin). La “Petite-France”.

The view reminds me of Gent, Belgium and what I love the most is that she wrote the back in French.

Hope she has  “des bonnes vacances”

Update and China – Xitang postcard

With all the fuss going on into my life in the past 2 weeks like dissertation thesis, moving back home, traveling to Bucharest and attending job interviews, making plans with my Russian girlfriend for a meet and greet trip to Italy or Germany and many other, I didn’t got the chance to post about my received postcards, and there are a bunch, or to talk about what I’ve read and what movies I have seen and loved.

Therefore I’m starting with a great card from China sent by Zou Jia who wished me a happy birthday in Chinese and taught me how to write my country’s name using those strange characters.

The card shows a traditional old town named Xitang, very near to Shanghai where the Expo 2010 is held.
