Etsy wednesday – Visual Sentiments

I have neglected my etsy Wednesday’s lately but now I’m back with goodies.

Today I present you Visual Sentiments; and what wonderful feelings it brings.

From lovely bookmarks that I’m slightly obsessed with to romantic Victorian style pendants and brooches featuring illustrations that make you wonder about the characters and the stories hidden in pastel colors.

Just take a look.

On the visual sentiments blog there is also a contest going on right now. Go see how to participate and what you can win.

New Jersey – Barnegat Lighthouse

Susanne from New Jersey lives close to the ocean and loves the beach. It’s quite a different life and experience after she grew up in Berlin.

The spectacular view you can see is of the Barnegat Lighthouse located on the northern point of Long Beach Island. The lighthouse was built in 1857-58 and was first lighted on January 1 1859.

Christopher Moore – O treaba murdara

Russia – Taganrog

Oxana from Russia sent me a picture of a nice monument from her hometown Taganrog. “Romance with the Double Bass” is a sculptural composition dedicated to Anton Chekhov who has a short story of the same name.

Obsesia are un gust familiar.

China – Baiyun Mountain

Beautiful view of the Baiyun Mountain received from Li Hong.

Baiyun Mountain (known locally as White  Clouds Mountain) is the nearest mountain resort that makes it a pleasant half-day trip away from the city. It is located about six kilometers from the city, which has refreshingly lush  and green surroundings.

Unfortunately I couldn’t get a clear and better picture with all the sun coming uninvited into my house.

Malaysia – Ubudiah Mosque

Vlad said that one thing I can’t probably give up to is trading postcards. And he was right alright.  Every single week I have to send at least 2 cards and receive others back. It’s so much fun that has became a little addictive.

So last week, besides the usual postcrossing project, I traded 3 cards.

First one to arrive is this beautiful Mosque of Ubudiah in Kuala Kangsar, Perak, Malaysia courtesy of Shurbani Abdul Talib and his daughter Alia. I just wanted a postcard with a mosque from all those available cards he had because these were looking fantastic. He picked the one above for me as it is the most requested in his tradings.

And now I can see why everyone loves it. The colors, the architecture and the whole setting makes me think this is surreal, I can not imagine such a great place for regaining peace and serenity.

Many thanks for such a collection piece.
